Otahpiaaki X: The Junction

Otahpiaaki hits the bricks this summer for weekends full of fashion, fun, and retail at The Junction! We are very pleased to be collaborating with our partners and pals at PARK, Sewing Seeds, and a Day For Girls all summer long. Been a while since you sat at sewing machine? Always wanted to learn how to bead? Want to learn about Indigenous protocol, or pick up a bit of Blackfoot or Cree language?

Stop by our shipping container paradise in Calgary’s east village.  So’kapi…it’s good!

Sometimes success creates new obstacles! Scaling production, developing a new generation of sewers and beaders, and hiring employees is a big step. Led by Otahpiaaki Design Champions, this project partners with nations, reserves, and communities to build a skilled workforce and inspire further creative venture development. The program is co-facilitated by our partners at Sewing Seeds Canada and is modelled on their celebrated global capacity-building programs. Equipment, guidance, and materials for beginner, intermediate, and advanced projects are provided.
